  • Moving on to show a new level of crazy, in this next portrait series, I wanted to show more or less every day scenes with a twist. Here I am watching Good Eats munching on something decidedly not 'good eats'. I paused the show on the opening splash screen to emphasize it was a cooking show and I chose my Wag More/Bark Less shirt to show that I'm a bit of a crazy dog person. Diet Mountain Dew has long been my drink of choice and well, the snack food is that bit of unexpected. Like much of my early portraiture, this image would have benefited from using a shallower depth of field to blur the background.

  • Working inside the general meeting room, one might forget they were inside a prison. Outside in the yard there was no pretending - razor wire fences surrounded the yards (there are several yards adjacent to one another)and guards armed with rifles stood watch in the towers.

  • While I would often bring entire litters to the studio (whether on location at the shelter or at home), I did not usually photograph them together because it made it more difficult to get individual portraits for their adoption profiles. Still, sometimes it was hard to resist putting them together to watch (and photograph) them playing.
