  • Starting off with an easy one. This image was created before I had any real studio lighting but despite that, was reasonably well lit. I included my girl Little Bit in the photo because let's face it, a dog will elevate just about any portrait. I was tilting my head mostly to be silly here. Robin was making noises to get Little bit to perk her ears and she was tilting her head left and right so naturally, I did the same. The opposite angles that we were tilting our heads actually works fairly well together.

  • Puppy head portrait photographed against white background

  • I've always thought that this photo of this puppy looks like a photo of a stuffed toy. I love the tilt of her head, the texture of her fur, and the shine in her eyes.

  • At the homeowner's suggestion, I then went to a third location. I mention that only because it emphasizes the point that sometimes two heads are better than one. This image was taken from a higher vantage point with a telephoto lens. I wouldn't have thought about the position without the suggestion but it is my favorite because it not only includes their decorations, but it also includes a view of Tucson at night in the background which provides a very nice backdrop to their home.

  • Spring and her best friend doing tricks. Spring likes the other dogs just fine but let's face it, their heads don't come off to give her crunchies.

  • Red slipper plant flowers. They kind of remind me alternately of birds of paradise (they're not related so far as I know) and colorful seahorse heads.

  • Master bathroom. Walk in shower with two heads, Jacuzzi brand tub. Windows are textured for complete privacy.
