  • From time to time I would photograph the adoptable animals on different colored seamless backgrounds. Mostly I did this to make them stand out from all of the other profiles on Petfinder at any given time but sometimes I would do it around a holiday (like green for St. Patrick's Day). In every case, using a colored background made the images less salable as stock photography.

  • Parts of Washington are included in what is known as the Palouse. The Palouse is an agricultural zone encompassing southeastern Washington, northeastern Oregon, and north central Idaho. One of the primary crops is wheat. The region has rolling hills and has a long enough growing season that you can often see fields in various stages of growth from plowed fields, to green wheat, to golden wheat ready to harvest. This road is mostly used to access these sprawling wheat fields.

  • I love the green and purple colors here. If this image makes the final cut, I'll likely crop it a touch so the purple ends in a point at the bottom left corner.
