  • Infrared (IR) image - This is one of my all time favorite Kentucky infrared photographs. The image has a great sense of symmetry but what really makes it work for me is that all of the trees on the left of the image still have their leaves while the trees on the right are bare. I can't really guess why such a thing would happen in nature. The photo was made mid-morning on an early autumn day.

  • The first six images were all photographed at home. This and the next image were made with that previous lesson in mind. The concept for these images was isolation. In this image I showed myself in the middle of an open field with no one in sight. It was created on a HOT day in the middle of the afternoon. I set up the photo before changing into the semi-formal clothes for the portrait.

  • Infrared (IR) image - Keeneland Race Track is a beautiful facility. I lived about three miles away and visited the track regularly with my IR modified and regular cameras. This scene is typical of how it looked on a 'slow' racing afternoon between heats. People dress up for the spectacle of it yet are often absorbed in their own world. On a busy day people are packed so tight that there is no room to make photos. This image was made on a cool week day afternoon.
